Briefly tell us what you do, and length of time in the CRE industry: We help private, regional, and institutional clients with their real estate strategy, specifically focusing on Retail, Net Lease, and sale-leaseback properties throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. I started in the business in 2006 and have worked at some great companies, I’ve been at Colliers for four years now and it’s a phenomenal place to work.
Which NAIOP committee are you involved in?: I am a Co-Chair of the Programs Committee.
Which project or professional accomplishment are you most proud of?: Being a trusted advisor to some of the biggest and best real estate owners in Wisconsin is my best professional accomplishment. When I get a call from someone who is respected and wants my opinion, that validates all the hard work I’ve done for the last 16 years in Milwaukee. From day one where I didn’t know what a triple net lease is, to now where we are talking about the capital stack, creative debt, interest rates and capital markets outlook, it’s been a fun journey.
How are you involved or how would you like to be more involved in NAIOP Wisconsin?: I’d like to continue to help NAIOP programs committee and eventually get to the board and president someday to help NAIOP grow and be successful for it’s members.
How do you hope to contribute to your NAIOP committee and what do you hope to get in return?: I’m a little biased but I think the programs committee is the heart of NAIOP, our events, networking, development showcases, and market updates are some of the most well attended events in the area. My goal is to continue to listen to our membership to make them better every year so each member gets something good out of those events.
Tell us about your family: My wife, Stephanie, went to Marquette Law and works in logistics now is the smartest person I know, she keeps our family running smoothly. We have two beautiful kiddos, Hannah 3.5 years and Jack is 7 months.
What is your favorite restaurant and why?: The most recent restaurant I tried was Lupe & Iris which was phenomenal, I loved the new vibe it brought to Milwaukee.
What music are you listening to?: I’m excited to see the Foo Fighters in Milwaukee for Harley’s 120th celebration, I saw them on the lake for Harley’s 105th and it was a great time.
What's your favorite vacation destination?: Italy…by far. I had never traveled to Europe before and my wife got engaged when we were in Rome, phenomenal country.
What's the last book you read?: The last book I read was Atomic Habits by James Clear, great read for continuing to be better in business and life.
What's something about you most people don't know?: I’m a big hockey fan. I played through high school, coached for many years, and still play today.
