Name/Title/Company: Aaron Matter / Founder & Managing Director / Matter Development

Briefly tell us what you do, and length of time in the CRE industry: I founded Matter Development to develop purposeful, lifestyle-forward, highly-connected and active senior housing with inspired design. We are an award winning developer, owner, and operator (through our affiliate, Koru Health) of senior housing communities with over $250M AUM and 525 employees.

 What project or professional accomplishment are you most proud of?: We have two high-performing communities that have been recognized for design and other awards: Evin at Oconomowoc and Lumia Mequon. Our most recent project, currently under construction for early 2025 completion, is Westerly Pewaukee - which is the largest project of my professional career. Westerly is shaping up to be one of my favorite projects.

How would you like to be more involved in NAIOP Wisconsin?: I look forward to real estate industry advocacy efforts. Real estate is a highly regulated industry that only continues to become more regulated.

Tell us about your family: My wife, Colleen, and I live on the East Side of Milwaukee. Colleen is a real estate attorney that works in-house for First American Title. We have a toddler son, Henry, and a daughter due this summer.

What's your favorite restaurant and why?: I like to track down Michelin Star restaurants when I travel! The service, environment, and place settings are an experience of their own.

What is your favorite adventure movie or series you've binge-watched?: House of Cards. 

What is your favorite vacation destination?: I like busy vacations in big cities - Chicago, New York, London.

What music are you listening to?: I listen mostly to country music - Zach Bryan, Cody Johnson, Cody Jinks.
