New Member Spotlight - Buck Knitt, RINKA

Name/Title/Company: Buck Knitt, Senior Design Director, RINKA

Briefly tell us what you do, and length of time in the CRE industryI’ve been working in the commercial real estate industry for over 10 years, with a focus on architecture and urban design. As Design Director at RINKA, I help lead projects from concept through execution, working closely with clients and teams to create places that are both functional and inspiring.

What project or professional accomplishment are you most proud of?: A recent accomplishment is the construction of American Orthodontics' new headquarters in Saukville - a project that reflects both the innovation and precision of their brand, while showcasing how thoughtful architecture can enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

How would you like to be more involved in NAIOP Wisconsin?: I'm excited to connect with others in the industry through NAIOP, especially where design and development intersect, and contributing to conversations that help elevate the quality and impact of projects across the region.

Tell us about your family: My wife and I have three kids, and we homeschool—so our days are full of energy, learning, and flexibility. We’re also foster parents, which means our definition of family is always changing. It’s brought both challenges and tremendous joy, and it gives me a balanced perspective. Life is good!

What are your hobbies?: Fixing broken things...Since purchasing an "HGTV Special" home in 2020 (off of Facebook Marketplace), we've been consistently renovating over the past 4 years, but we're getting close to being done. I love working on old vehicles and engines too. Most recently, I've become enamored with golf. Invite me to your outing!

What is your favorite resturant and why?: We love Balistreri's Italian-American Ristorante on 68th St. Even the other guests make our family feel welcome whenever we're there. Go around the holidays for the the cozy, warm, over-the-top decorations vibe. Not to mention the pizza.

Who is you favorite author and/or what is your favorite quote? “There's more beauty in truth, even if it is dreadful beauty.” ― John Steinbeck, East of Eden
